Your ring may need resizing over the years or right after you receive it, which is why our rings are eligible for three complimentary resizes. If you’re planning a surprise engagement ring or gift for a loved one, our specialists will gladly assist you in estimating the correct ring size. And if it’s not quite right, don’t worry – we’ll resize your ring for free (provided the new size is within three sizes of the original and the ring doesn’t have diamonds all around the band).
Can I Resize My Ring?
Yes, nearly all rings we create can be resized (with the exception of full eternity or fully diamond-set bands, which may need to be remade if the size is incorrect). These rings are eligible for three complimentary resizes during your lifetime, as part of our lifetime care package.
Full eternity rings or fully diamond-set bands cannot be resized due to the lack of plain metal, requiring a remake instead, which will incur additional charges. When designing such rings, consider opting for designs with around 60% diamond coverage to leave enough plain metal for future resizing.
Please note that resizing engraved rings may require re-engraving. To avoid this, consider waiting until you’re certain of the fit before adding an engraving
How We Resize Your Ring ?
Resizing a ring involves a straightforward process, but it demands precision and expertise to ensure a flawless finish with no visible seams.
First, the ring’s shank is carefully cut at the back. To decrease the size, a small piece of metal is removed. To enlarge the ring, a piece of metal is added.
The jeweler uses precise measuring tools to ensure the new size is accurate.
The metal is then seamlessly joined using laser welding, creating a smooth and clean connection.
Finally, the ring is polished and undergoes a thorough quality control check to ensure the resizing is impeccable and undetectable.
How Quickly Can Rings Be Resized?
Ring resizing usually requires about one business week to complete. Once you bring your ring back to us for resizing, your consultant will provide you with a specific completion date.
