What's the origin story?
Founder Brett’s journey started in London’s renowned Hatton Garden jewelry district. He was searching for the perfect ring to commemorate the birth of his baby with Natalie. But amidst countless stores and standard sales pitches, Brett felt something was missing – their personal story.
Inspired by this experience, Brett envisioned creating a jewelry-buying journey that centered on each couple’s unique narrative. Thus, Queensmith was born: a place where personal decisions and heartfelt sentiments take center stage. Each piece is meticulously crafted in-house, offered at transparent prices, ensuring an immersive and meaningful experience for every customer.
Transparency in Design
we prioritize personalized service over off-the-shelf experiences and mass production. Our approach ensures an immersive journey where clients can engage as much as they prefer. We maintain open communication throughout the creation of each ring or jewellery piece, offering tailored, transparent guidance from our skilled gemmologists and designers at every stage. With in-house craftsmanship, we take full responsibility for delivering exceptional quality and meticulous workmanship in all our creations. Our ultimate goal is to simplify and enrich the process of crafting bespoke jewellery, ensuring a delightful experience for every client.
Why do you choose to have your workshops in-house?

There are no middlemen involved, which means we can manage overhead costs effectively and ensure fair compensation for our skilled goldsmiths who meticulously craft each piece. This approach also guarantees that we maintain consistent, high-quality standards in every piece of jewellery we create, providing our clients with confidence and accountability in our workmanship. It’s a practice that aligns with our commitment to delivering bespoke jewellery experiences that are both exceptional and reliable.

Ethical Considerations in Jewelry Purchases
How are your diamonds sourced?
Yes, we ensure that every diamond we offer comes from reputable and trusted suppliers who adhere to our strict standards of transparency and ethical sourcing practices. We are committed supporters of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, which has been instrumental in preventing 99.8% of the global trade in conflict diamonds. Additionally, we expand our collection with lab-grown diamonds, which are expertly sourced and offer a sustainable alternative. We also strictly avoid sourcing gemstones from conflict zones to uphold our ethical standards.
Will the consultant assisting me have gemmological qualifications?
our consultants are certified gemmologists. We prioritize genuine expertise because we understand the significance of purchasing diamonds, engagement rings, and fine jewelry. Whether you’re seeking information or aiming for the best value, our qualified gemmologists are dedicated to ensuring you make informed, confident decisions.
What are conflict diamonds and how can I ensure my diamonds are ethically sourced?
Conflict diamonds, also known as blood diamonds, are diamonds that originate from areas controlled by rebel forces or factions seeking to undermine legitimate governments. These diamonds are illegally mined and traded to finance armed conflicts and civil unrest, often leading to widespread violence and human rights abuses in the regions where they are sourced.
we adamantly oppose the trade of conflict diamonds. We support ethical sourcing practices and adhere strictly to the guidelines set forth by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS). This international initiative aims to eliminate the trade of conflict diamonds by ensuring that diamonds are responsibly sourced from areas free of violence and human rights abuses. By working exclusively with reputable and transparent diamond suppliers, we uphold our commitment to ethical standards and contribute to the sustainable development of communities where diamonds are responsibly mined.
What is the Kimberley Process and does this guarantee a conflict-free stone?
We adhere strictly to the Kimberley Process, which prohibits the sale of diamonds originating from conflict zones. This international initiative ensures that diamonds are responsibly mined and traded, contributing to global efforts for ethical diamond sourcing. Over 99% of diamonds in the global market are certified under the Kimberley Process, guaranteeing they are conflict-free. At our establishment, we exclusively procure diamonds from reputable, transparent, and established global suppliers who uphold these standards without compromise.
How can I be certain my diamond has been ethically sourced?
While the Kimberley Process ensures that over 99% of natural diamonds in the global diamond trade are ethically sourced, some individuals prefer the assurance of purchasing a lab-grown diamond. Lab-grown diamonds are structurally identical to natural diamonds, composed of the same materials and exhibiting identical appearances.
There are several advantages to choosing lab-grown diamonds. They are guaranteed to be ethically produced, and they often cost between 40% to 60% less than naturally mined diamonds. This makes them a popular choice for those seeking transparency and affordability in their diamond purchase.
What exactly are lab-grown diamonds?
Lab-grown diamonds are synthetic alternatives to naturally mined diamonds, considered genuine diamonds in every way. They are created in controlled laboratory environments that replicate the natural diamond formation process involving high pressure and heat.
Distinguishing between natural and lab-grown diamonds typically requires specialized equipment like DiamondSure and DiamondView, which use UV radiation to detect unique features that indicate their origin.
Due to their efficient production methods, lab-grown diamonds are often priced between 40% to 60% lower than natural diamonds. Additionally, they ensure ethical sourcing practices and have a significantly reduced environmental impact compared to diamond mining.
How can I be certain that I'll receive the exact diamond I selected?
We exclusively work with diamonds that are certified by either the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) for natural diamonds or the International Gemological Institute (IGI) for lab-grown diamonds. Each diamond from these institutions is laser-inscribed with a unique serial number, visible only under magnification, which corresponds to its accompanying certificate. It’s recommended to verify this number both before and after the diamond is set, whenever feasible.
The GIA is a renowned non-profit organization recognized globally for its stringent diamond grading standards. Opting for a GIA-certified natural diamond ensures transparency in quality and guarantees that you receive a comprehensive certificate detailing the diamond’s distinctive attributes.
For lab-grown diamonds, IGI is highly regarded for its thorough analysis and grading procedures, making it the preferred choice in this category. We strongly recommend selecting diamonds certified by either GIA or IGI for assurance and peace of mind.
Do you sell diamonds certified by GIA?
Yes, the natural diamonds we offer are certified by GIA. We choose GIA certified diamonds because GIA is a non-profit organization known for its rigorous and precise grading standards, widely regarded as the most reliable in the industry.
For lab-grown diamonds, we provide options certified by both GIA and IGI based on your preference. This is because IGI offers a more detailed and specific grading standard for lab diamond clarity and color, which GIA currently does not provide.
Do you accept trade-ins for diamonds or jewelry?
No, we do not purchase second-hand diamonds or jewelry. Our commitment lies in working exclusively with reputable suppliers known for their transparent sourcing practices. This ensures that every diamond and piece of jewelry we offer is traceable to its origin, and we do not engage in the resale of second-hand items.
However, if you have heirloom diamonds or precious gemstones that hold sentimental value, we can often incorporate them into new custom-made jewelry pieces for personal use. Please note, we do not reuse metal from existing jewelry due to concerns about purity. Our gemologists will assess the suitability of heirloom diamonds or gemstones before proceeding with any resetting.
Am I able to select any gemstones for an engagement ring or fine jewelry?
Diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and emeralds are among the most suitable gemstones for engagement rings due to their durability. Not all gemstones are suitable for everyday wear as they can be too soft and susceptible to damage from daily activities. Diamonds, being the hardest gemstones, are highly resistant to chipping, scratching, or breaking. Sapphires and rubies also offer excellent durability, followed by emeralds. Other durable gemstone options include aquamarine, morganite, spinel, topaz, and tourmaline.
Is it possible to keep my purchase confidential?
We understand the importance of discretion when it comes to engagement ring orders. Rest assured, we take several steps to maintain confidentiality throughout the process. Our communications leading up to your consultation and during the crafting of your ring are discreet. We ensure that our deliveries do not bear any obvious branding, and you will receive timely updates on the delivery status. Prior to dispatching your ring, we’ll coordinate with you to confirm a suitable delivery date and provide a tracking code once it’s shipped.
Here are additional tips to help keep your engagement ring order confidential:
- Ensure the email address you use for communication is not accessible on shared devices.
- If preferred, specify your communication preference (email-only) to avoid phone calls.
- Use a personal, non-shared payment method for your order.
- Avoid discussing ring size details with your partner directly. Instead, we can assist in estimating the size based on height, clothing size, and photos. We also offer complimentary resizing if needed.
What is the typical turnaround time for crafting my ring?
Our rings are usually crafted within a timeframe of 4 to 5 weeks.
For in-store orders, simpler designs may sometimes be completed in a shorter period. If you have a specific deadline, please inform your consultant during your consultation to discuss the best options available for you.
Can you accommodate an urgent request for a ring?
Yes, while our standard crafting time for rings is typically 4 to 5 weeks, we do offer expedited services for some of our simpler, classic designs. Please consult with your advisor to see what options are available.
Additionally, we maintain a selection of ready-to-wear engagement rings that can be quickly delivered.
Alternatively, you might consider choosing a loose diamond to propose with, and then returning with your partner to design the ring together—a wonderfully romantic option!
How do I determine the appropriate amount to spend on a ring?
We can’t advise on how much you should spend, but rest assured, engagement rings can be tailored to fit a wide range of budgets. Here’s some helpful information to assist you in setting your budget:
A simple 0.30-carat diamond solitaire engagement ring typically starts from approximately £1,400. Beyond that, the final cost of your ring will depend on factors such as the complexity of the design and the size and quality of the diamonds chosen.
Setting a budget for an engagement ring is a highly personal decision without strict guidelines. If you have a rough budget in mind and a design preference, our Customer Care team can provide guidance on the diamond sizes available within your budget. Feel free to reach out to us to discuss further!
How can I estimate my partner's ring size?
If you’re unsure of your partner’s ring size, our experts can help make an educated estimate based on factors like clothing size and height. A clear photo of your partner’s hand can also assist our consultants in getting the size right.
In the event that the ring doesn’t fit perfectly, we offer complimentary resizing for all Queensmith rings. Since proposals are often a surprise, we’ll invite you and your partner to visit our store after the proposal. During this visit, we’ll accurately measure the ring size and make any necessary adjustments to ensure it fits perfectly.
Does the engagement ring come with a proposal box?
Yes, each engagement ring from our collection includes a complimentary ring box. Our boxes are elegantly designed with a luxurious off-white satin finish.
The engagement ring boxes are compact, measuring 57mm x 57mm, and are crafted to showcase the ring beautifully, making for a memorable presentation.
Additionally, our boxes feature a discreet Queensmith logo embellishment, and each comes with a monogrammed protective outer box measuring 62mm x 62mm, ensuring the box remains pristine.
Are there options available for engraving my engagement ring?
We offer the option to engrave your ring either before or after your proposal. Please note, if resizing is required, we may need to re-engrave the ring, so some clients prefer to wait until after the proposal when the ring size is confirmed.
Our engravings are elegantly handcrafted in a classic script font style. There’s a limit of 25 characters per engraving, and the cost is a flat rate of £75. You can add this service to your order online or discuss it with your consultant during an in-store consultation.

If you’re not yet ready to purchase your wedding ring, you can always do so at a later date!

How far in advance should I arrange an appointment for my wedding?
We suggest scheduling your initial wedding ring consultation about 2 to 3 months before your wedding. The creation of your rings usually takes 4 to 5 weeks from the time all decisions are made. This timeframe allows for multiple appointments if necessary, time to deliberate and finalize your choices, and ensures that your rings are ready for collection or delivery well ahead of the big day.

Yes, we typically design both engagement rings and wedding rings to fit together seamlessly. For in-store purchases, we require your engagement ring during the crafting process. This allows our goldsmiths to ensure perfect proportion and alignment for a flush fit.
Some engagement rings may not be designed to accommodate a traditional wedding ring sitting flush against the band. In such cases, we recommend considering a shaped wedding ring.

We’ll promptly confirm your order details with you.
If you wish to include custom details, customize one of our classic designs, or opt for a different gemstone like sapphire, ruby, or emerald, please contact us. For a completely bespoke ring, you’ll need to schedule an appointment.

How do I go about cancelling my order?
If you wish to cancel your order, please inform us as soon as you can. Contact your dedicated consultant or reach out to our Customer Care team promptly.
Can I delay my order if I require more time for consideration?
Absolutely! Whether during or after your consultation, you have the option to pause your order if you’re uncertain about the design or need more time to decide. It’s important to note that the production period of 4 to 5 weeks begins only after you confirm your decision to proceed with the order, so the original due date provided will be adjusted accordingly. We will update your due date once you confirm your order.
Additionally, during an in-store or online consultation, you can reserve a diamond for up to 2 weeks to allow for consideration before finalizing your purchase. This ensures the diamond remains exclusively reserved for you and will not be shown to others. A deposit of £200 is required for diamond holds, which is fully refundable.
What happens if the diamond I chose online is no longer in stock?
Occasionally, there may be a slight delay in updating our inventory. If the diamond you selected is no longer available for purchase, we will promptly notify you. Our team will then present you with a curated selection of alternative options to ensure you find the best choice.
How much is the deposit when I place my order?
If you are placing an order in-store, over the phone, or via email, we ask for an initial payment to begin crafting your ring. You have the option to select either a 25% or 50% deposit. For online orders, the full payment is required to finalize the purchase.
Pricing Structure
How are your engagement rings and jewelry priced?
At our core, transparency is paramount. When you opt for a custom ring or jewelry piece, we provide a detailed breakdown of all costs, ensuring there are no hidden fees.
Our standard engagement ring designs feature a straightforward pricing structure. This includes the cost of metalwork, any small diamonds used, and the hours spent crafting. The price of your chosen main diamond or gemstone will be added to this base fee. Our approach to pricing bespoke pieces mirrors that of our standard designs, with clear, flat rates for customizations.
Similarly, our standard wedding ring designs are priced with transparency in mind.
Our business model focuses on delivering bespoke excellence at the most competitive prices. By crafting our rings in-house, we eliminate middlemen and unnecessary costs, allowing us to uphold our high standards of craftsmanship without compromising on value.
How can I pay for my order?
We offer the following payment options at :
- VISA debit and credit cards
- MasterCard and Maestro
For in-store purchases, we also accept:
- Bank transfers
- Cash payments
Please note that online orders can be paid using VISA debit and credit cards, MasterCard, and Maestro only. If you prefer to use another payment method or wish to explore financing options for your ring or jewelry, please contact us, and we will assist you with your order manually.
Do you provide payment installment options or financing?
At present, we do not offer financing options, but we plan to introduce this service in the coming months. To initiate the production of your ring, we require a deposit of either 25% or 50%, depending on your preference. The remaining balance can be paid in installments leading up to the collection or upon collection/delivery of the item. Our rings typically take between 4 to 5 weeks to craft, and we can securely store your ring until all payments are completed.
Please note, while installment payments are not available for online orders, we can accommodate this manually. Please reach out to us directly to arrange installment payments.
Can I pay for my purchase in monthly payments?
Yes, you have the option to pay for your ring or jewelry in installments when placing an order in-store, over the phone, or via email. The full balance must be settled upon collection or prior to delivery of your order. Our standard production time is between 4 to 5 weeks, during which you can make as many installment payments as needed. If you require a longer payment period, we can securely store your order until it’s convenient for you to finalize payment.
Please note, installment payments are not available for online orders at this time. However, we can assist you with this process manually – please get in touch with us to proceed.
Can I recover tax paid on my purchase?
All prices shown on our website, in-store, or provided in quotes include Value Added Tax (VAT). As of the beginning of 2021, due to changes in the Retail Export Scheme, customers are no longer eligible to reclaim VAT on their jewelry purchases upon leaving the country.
Is the quoted price subject to change?
When you receive a quote during a consultation, the price offered will remain unchanged for a period of 14 days. If you choose not to proceed with the order within this timeframe, the price in your next quote may vary. This adjustment is due to potential fluctuations in diamond and metal prices. We strive to maintain pricing stability and will uphold the quoted price for orders placed within the standard quotation period.
Are there hidden fees for personalized orders?
No, we never apply hidden charges, and you’ll receive a clear price quote before confirming your order.
There are no additional fees for bespoke orders, and they are priced similarly to our standard designs. For instance, the metalwork for a solitaire ring remains consistent at £700, whether it’s a standard design or a custom creation. If you opt for enhancements such as a diamond-set bridge or engraving, these are priced with a flat fee, which your consultant will discuss during the quoting process.
Delivery Options
What are your shipping destinations?
We offer shipping services both domestically within the UK and internationally worldwide. For international shipping, please contact us to discuss any additional costs that may apply.
Within the UK, orders are dispatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed (Next Day Service) or Malca-Amit, both of which include tracking and require a signature upon delivery. All shipments are fully insured.
Are deliveries secure and insured?
Yes, we prioritize secure delivery methods recommended by our insurance provider for shipments within the UK, typically utilizing Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed and Malca-Amit for higher value items. These services offer full tracking, insurance coverage, and aim for delivery the day after dispatch.
To ensure discretion, we label packages with ‘Fragile’ and ‘Do not leave with neighbors’. Additionally, we avoid using identifiers like ‘jewellers’.
During Covid-19 restrictions, Royal Mail may not require a physical signature upon delivery, but confirmation of delivery can still be accessed through the tracking page using the recipient’s name.
What type of packaging will my order be in?
We ensure that our delivery packaging is discreet, omitting any logos or references to ‘jewellers’ or items that might indicate the package’s contents. However, for insurance purposes, Queensmith’s return address is required on the packaging. Therefore, if you prefer to maintain the element of surprise, it’s best to accept the delivery yourself.
Each ring is securely packaged inside a ring box upon arrival. Similarly, other jewellery items are packaged safely within a jewellery box.
What is the typical delivery timeframe?
Typically, your order will undergo crafting, which usually takes around 4 to 5 weeks. Upon placing your order, we will provide you with the specific due date. Return Policy
What is included in your complimentary jewellery aftercare services?
Every purchase from Queensmith includes complimentary lifetime cleaning and polishing services. We recommend cleaning your jewellery at home as needed and scheduling a professional polish every 3 to 5 years or when you notice the metal could benefit from rejuvenation. Over-polishing can weaken the metal, so we’ll advise you accordingly.
You’re welcome to visit any Queensmith store for professional cleaning services; simply contact us to arrange an appointment.
Our rings come with three complimentary resizing services. To maintain durability, we suggest limiting resizing to three times.
We offer a free servicing appointment as needed (typically recommended every 1 to 2 years) to ensure your jewellery is in optimal condition and may require any necessary adjustments. If your item is damaged or needs attention, please notify us promptly. Please note, there may be charges for repairs needed due to damage sustained while outside our care.
What is the best method for cleaning jewellery at home?
- Prepare a bowl and fill it with very warm water mixed with a small amount of Fairy liquid (ensure the water is not scalding hot). Have a soft-bristled toothbrush and a clean cloth or tea towel ready.
- Place your jewellery into the bowl and let it soak for about ten minutes. Avoid cleaning your jewellery under running water with an open drain to prevent accidents. The warm water and Fairy liquid will effectively break down oils and dirt during this time.
- After soaking, gently use the toothbrush to remove any remaining dirt. Take care to brush behind the diamond and underneath the setting, if your jewellery design allows. While diamonds are durable, metals like platinum and gold can scratch, so use a soft toothbrush with light pressure.
How can I ensure my jewellery remains undamaged?
Avoid wearing your jewellery during physical activities that could potentially damage them, such as weightlifting, rigorous sports like rowing, or activities where you might grasp objects forcefully, like playing sports with a racket.
Be mindful of not clapping your hands together or allowing your jewellery to come into contact with other rings, as this can distort the metal over time.
Refrain from using abrasive cleaners like Cif or abrasive tools like scrubbies while wearing your jewellery, as these can scratch the metal. It’s best to remove your jewellery before using such cleaning products and store them securely.
To safeguard your investment, consider insuring your engagement ring or fine jewellery against damages, theft, and loss. Specialists like TH March offer jewellery insurance, or you can explore adding your items to your home contents insurance policy for coverage.
Does my purchase include a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer?
Yes, every item from Queensmith is backed by a Lifetime Manufacturer’s Warranty.
Jewellery Care Guidelines
How does we handle returns and exchanges?
40-Day Free Returns:
We offer a generous 40-day return policy for a full refund on eligible items. This applies to items where the diamond is priced below £25,000 excluding VAT and items that have not been customized from their original state as displayed on our website.
While we provide free shipping for deliveries, please note that return shipping charges are the customer’s responsibility.
To qualify for a refund, the return must be initiated within 40 days of delivery and received by us within one week thereafter (no later than 47 days after delivery). The item must be in its original, unworn condition without any damage, accompanied by all original documents and materials.
Our production team will inspect the returned item. Items showing signs of wear, alteration, resizing by a non- jeweller, or damage cannot be returned.
In the rare event of a faulty item or an error in your order, we will repair, replace, or refund the item at no cost. Please return the item to Queensmith before any replacement, repair, or refund process begins.
To initiate a refund, please contact our Customer Care team with your order number.
For full details, please review our Returns Policy.
Non-Refundable Items:
Certain items are not eligible for returns or refunds. Please contact our Customer Care team with your order number to verify eligibility.
Excluded from our 40-day return policy are bespoke commissions, personalized or engraved items, and pierced jewelry such as earrings for hygiene reasons. All refunds are contingent upon the item being unworn, unused, undamaged, and in saleable condition.
Returns must be properly and securely packaged. Returns lacking necessary paperwork (including the GIA report) or missing product(s) may not be processed. In such cases, a £250 fee may be deducted from your refund to replace any missing diamond or gemstone grading certificates.
Please note, if you exchange your order for another ring, the second ring is non-returnable unless due to a manufacturing issue.
Am I able to return an engagement ring if it doesn't meet the recipient's expectations?
Yes, if your purchase falls within our 40-day Returns Policy, you have the option to return it for a full refund or to have it redesigned at no additional charge. Please be aware that any additional design elements or enhancements, such as a diamond-set bridge or halo, may incur standard costs.
Can I make changes to my item without needing to return it?
Certainly, alterations are possible depending on the type of item and the specific changes requested. Some alterations may necessitate redesigning and remaking the item. Simple modifications such as resizing the ring or adding an engraving are generally feasible. Feel free to get in touch with us to discuss the alterations you have in mind for your item. We’ll be happy to provide more information on the process.
Can I sell my Queensmith jewellery back to you if I no longer want it?
No, unfortunately, we do not offer a buy-back service for your jewellery. If your item is still within the 40-day returns window and meets our return conditions, you may be eligible to return it. Please review our returns policy to determine if your item qualifies.
As a bespoke jeweller crafting each piece from scratch, we do not engage in the resale of pre-made jewellery or deal in second-hand items. This policy ensures that every piece we sell is in pristine condition for its new owner.
Can my ring be resized if it doesn’t fit?
We offer complimentary resizing for all Queensmith rings up to three times throughout its lifetime. Our resizing service allows adjustments up or down by up to three sizes, though typically, most adjustments are by one size or half a size.
While you may only need to resize your ring once initially, it’s common for finger sizes to change over time, such as after events like pregnancy.
Please note that we can only resize rings purchased directly from us and cannot accommodate resizing for rings purchased elsewhere.
